Education

Patrick holds a Bachelors of Music degree from Berklee College of Music (Magna cum Laude), a Masters of Music from Manhattan School of Music (Summa cum Laude), and an Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School.

Teaching

Patrick is currently a member of the music faculty at The United Nations School in Manhattan. He has formerly been on faculty at Hunter College (CUNY) in New York City, Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, and Poly Prep in Brooklyn.

Additionally, he teaches private lessons to saxophone, jazz improvisation, and composition students of all ages and levels, along with beginning and intermediate clarinet and flute via Zoom or in person in Brooklyn. Topics for study can include:

  • Saxophone Techique and Fundamentals

  • Classical Saxophone Repertoire

  • Jazz Improvisation Technique

  • Transcription and Style Analysis

  • Music Theory and Jazz Harmony

  • Rhythmic Study, Complex Meters, Accuracy, Swing, and Time Feel

  • Jazz Composition and Arranging

  • Flute and Clarinet Instruction, Doubling, and Jazz Improvisation
